The End

Well that's it for my project, I think i covered most of the main aspects of Melbourne.
My blog has just under 25 photo's and 815 words.
I hope you like it :)

Music

Melbourne's music scenes are just growing bigger and bigger with the help of all the fans and radio stations playing new bands that haven't been hard of and helping out upcoming artists.

Almost everyday in Melbourne there will be a gig/concert on or some form of artist playing somewhere.
Melbourne have produced some great bands over time and hold many major music festivals.
With many great venues available to hold concerts it makes the experience even greater.

Fastival Hall Melbourne.

The Palace Theatre Melbourne.

The Forum Theatre Melbourne.

Sport

Sport is a major component of Melbourne city, we are all very passionate about either our AFL Football, Cricket or Rugby which are the main highlights of sport in Melbourne.

With two huge sporting arena's called Etihad Stadium and MCG it makes the sporting experience even more special.

Melbourne hold the highest number of AFL teams through out australia which means attendance a games is very high, and the amount of people at each afl football game is one of the highest in the world.
MCG

The MCG was built all the way back in 1853.

With a total capacity of the MCG is approximately 100,000. This is made up of 95,000 seats and 5000 standing room spaces, it makes it the biggest in Melbourne.

ETIHAD Stadium

Etihad stadium or formally known as Telstra dome and before that Colonial Stadium, was opened in 2000.

The fixed seating capacity of Etihad Stadium for AFL is 53,359. Etihad Stadium can alter seating plans to vary from 12,000 to 74,000 for sporting and entertainment events.

The retractable roof has made is very bersatile for many different events.

Connex Metcards

These are just a few of the designs that have been printed on Metcards in melbournes public transport system, some of them designed by celebrities or marking a significant time in melbourne, or sometimes even a major exhibition.

Cafe's and Resturaunts

Melburnians love food!

If one thing sets Melbourne apart from almost all other cities in the world, is it's the outstanding quality, variety and affordability of its food and drink.
Melbourne's thousands of restaurants and cafes feed the city's millions with nearly every cuisine imaginable.

Chapel Street
Fashion is definitely the key when it comes to chapel street, dressing up, fancy cars for a reason to make people look at you.
With so many different cafes for everything ranging from casual lunch, to dinner with fine wine's.
The eating facilities are there to suit that of the clients, fancy and fashionable.

Lygon Street
This street's atmosphere yells, Italian, Italian, Italian!
Australia's first wave of Italian immigrants claimed this area many years ago and has remained that way ever since, even some of the original restaurants are still there.
Anything Italian is celebrated here, whether that be fashion, festivals food or special occasions like public holidays.
This strip is where you come for good old Italian cuisine.

China Town
Situated on Little Bourke Street in central Melbourne, Chinatown is a significant attraction of Melbourne, seeing little change over the years since the first Chinese came to make their fortunes on the goldfields.
China town is busy all day and all night and suits the hustle and bustle of the city.
There are so many little shops packed in to one tight area, it really adds to the atmosphere.
For anything asian cuisine, this is the place to be!

Melbourne Fashion.

Melbourne's fashion is forever changing.
Styles seem to come and go,
but vintage and retro always seem to be the desired style in the CBD
There are many different styles to Melbourne,
a lot of it determined by the music scene.
There are many famous Melbourne fashion designers;
who have done extremely well in the rest of the fashion world.
We also love Opp shops, where you can find bargains,
and usually cheap clothing.
I personally love Melbourne's fashion sense as it's so unique.

Street Art

Melbourne's street are is simply amazing.
every where you go, every lane way; there is some form of art.
I love graffiti pieces, NOT TAGS, actual graffiti art.

Some people think that all graffiti is vandalism,
but you will find that alot of this art,
people have actually been hired to paint it.

Melbourne is well known for its lane ways,
that are full of colour and abstract art,
randomly placed picture frames,
and one of a kind paintings.
it really just adds to the great and definitely unique atmosphere.

Public Transport

Melbourne's public transport system is easy to use and can get you just about anywhere in the city. It's fairly cheap and sometimes free, usually on time and all forms of transportation run quite regularly!

^^^^

City Circle Tram

Above is a picture of the City Circle Tram,
which is free to all and takes you on a loop around the city.
I personally think that these trams are old fashioned and add to the culture of Melbourne City.
They look great and still run well, so why not still use them!

Trains
Melbourne's train system are also very well organised,
also very easy to use and have recently and continue to be updated to be even better.

Vline

The Vline system consists of buses coaches and trains that take you almost anywhere in Victoria and other states.

It's a cheaper and easy alternative to planes and makes accessing almost anywhere in Victoria easy and quick for everyone.
I love the Vline service and use it regularly.

Buses

There are over 500 bus routes through out melbourne, which means theres almost a bus for everwhere you are, which is very convenient.

The busses are nicely air conditioned, easy to get onto and are generally in good condition. They're usually on time, without busses i wouldn't be able to get around, so i am very thankful for this service.

Tickets

The Metcard ticketing system is very easy to use and quite affordable.

There are only 3 zones in Victorias public transport system and they are, Zone 1, Zone 2 and Country areas.
I love metcards and will be very sad when they are taken over by a different system.

School Project

This blog is part of my 3c9 school assessment task.
I'll be posting up our day's in the city and describing Melbourne,
which i still think to be the world's most livable city!
Enjoy :)
